Is an ABS Motor Pack the same as Master Cylinder?

I have a 99 Pontiac Montana, and recently the ABS lights and Traction control lights came on and stayed on...took to the shop for diagnostic, and he said I needed an ABS Motor Pack. $900!!!!!!! I have an extended warranty which covers the ABS Master Cylinder, but they are saying they will not cover this because it says Motor Pack on my diagnostic sheet. In searching online, it seems that these may be one in the same?!?!?! Help!!!

No they are not the same. The ABS motor is the heart of the ABS system and one of the most expensive individual parts on the vehicle. The Master Cylinder is part of the conventional brake system and operates independently of the ABS Module. If the Master Cylinder didn't work, you wouldn't have any brakes at all.

As it is, on some GM vehicles if the ABS module goes bad it stops feeding pressure to the rear brakes - essentially only the front brakes function.

This is something your going to have to get fixed.
