Adjustable Camshaft Gear And Beam Rods For Your Bmw
Adjustable cam gears are one of the most important performance parts used for maximizing the performance by fine tuning the timing of the camshaft. A BMW adjustable cam gear can change your driving experience as there are a lot of benefits that an adjustable camshaft gear provides. When you have an M20 adjustable cam gear fixed in your E30 BMW, all that you need to do is to make the desired changes in the chain or the belt by loosening the bolts. If you have done any modifications in the car, you may need to make these changes in the timing or may do this to make the timing more suitable according to the way you prefer to drive. The changes will take place in the horsepower of the car and you can lower it down or increase it.
The E30 adjustable cam gear is made up of aluminum and actually just cut out of a single piece of the metal and does not contain any small parts that have been joined together. The use of aluminum makes this part light and this is an advantage as well. When you have to change the gear, make sure you buy the one that is specially meant for M20 motors. The gear comes with markings from ‘A’ to ‘R’ where the former means advance and the latter means retard.
Another important performance part that you need for your BMW is m20 H-beam connecting rods. The racing engines need the highest quality parts and you should buy them from suppliers that have been in the business for years and are known for the quality of the products and the price they offer for the products. The M20 H Beam connecting Rods are mostly made of chrome steel. The material for the rods are hardened due to the tempering and quenching it goes through. The design of these rods is 3D and this is why the weight is less while the strength is not reduced.
The forging of these rods is done in two pieces and this helps in increasing the strength further. The rods for different cars will vary and this is why you will have to make sure that the rods that you are buying are an exact match for the model of your car. Should there be any play in the piston and connecting rod in my kawasaki kx80?
i just got a kx80 and the piston blew up
i put a new one in it and it seems to have movement in between were the connecting rod meets the piston is this ok or what
a little bit of play is acceptable ... defining a little bit in text form is hard to relay though.... but since this is not a press fit there has to be a little play ... since there is a slight clearance between the bearing and connecting rod on the outside diameter of the bearing ... and there is a slight clearance between the bearing and wrist pin on the inside diameter of the bearing ... translates to a slight bit of play between the piston and the connecting rod...
but as for a measurement that is acceptable... I am guessing a few thousandths of an inch.

edit: you say the old piston "blew up"??? If it went into pieces, you are very likely also going to need to split the cases to insure none of the old piston pieces went into the bottom end as it will destroy lower bearing & possible other very costly damage to the crank.
