Water jet cutting technique is one of the most efficient techniques used to cut sensitive and high temperature sensitive materials, specially, metals and glass. Water jet cutting is said to be The Green Process of cutting materials. In this process, water is used at a very high accelerated velocity, enabling it to cut any hard metal as deep as 40 cm thick, with almost no harm to other sides of the material, even the water used in this process can be recycled using a close loop system, and then is filtered and the final waste water is disposed of down the drain.
Water jet cutting is done on many scales and to achieve different type of goals. Cutting, shaping, carving and reaming are the methods to achieve different types of goals. Water jet cutting can be done on surface like, stone cutting, glass cutting, metal cutting and ceramic cutting. Water jet cutting machines can cut and carve metals, glasses, ceramic and stones with a minimal accuracy of 0.025mm which is achieved by laser cutting and no other cutting. Water jet cutting can be useful to make waste materials useful by extracting the remaining pure materials from them by cutting them minutely. The velocity of the water used by water jet cutter is somewhere between 30,000 psi to 100,000 psi.
Many companies using this pure form of energy also has an alternative of this energy with its similar base, known as Abrasive water jet cutting process, in this process the use of water is same, except that other ceramic products like garnet and aluminium oxide is mixed while releasing the water in high pressure. This water has the capability to cut any hard material up to 45 cm without harming its base layer. One of the beneficial side of abrasive water jet cutting is that in this process one need not change the cutting tool as this water can cut any material, but if we need it thick or minutely carved or shaped then its nozzle is to be changed, which is like the point of the pen deciding the thickness of the writing.
Water jet cutting is much successful on glass, and other quartz base materials, these quartz based materials are very sensitive to high temperature as well as power shots like hammer cutting method or so, but in water jet glass cutting method, glasses are cut like a piece of bread, without harming their basic surface and that too with 0.025mm accuracy, making it look like a new piece of glass. Now a days glass paintings glass statues and glass ornaments and such luxury products are in fashion and to full fill the demand of the market, it is necessary to provide a quality product, water jet glass cutting machines can make statues, dummies and much loo alike luxury products, with any roughness in its outer layer causing no harm to mankind.

If you are cutting aluminum you should use a metal cutting blade. A normal stone saw blade will not cut the metal safely. It will also be uneconomical. A metal cutting blade will cut much quicker than trying to force a stone blade through metal. It also matters because it can be dangerous cutting any metal with a blade that is not meant for cutting metal because the blade can become unstable and parts can come away from the blade. The cost of the cutting blades for both stone,brick,concrete etc and the cost of a metal blade will be somewhere similar in price so If i were you i would always look to buy a metal cutting blade rather than a general blade.
