Students love to take the time out to decorate the school locker that they have been assigned at the beginning of the school year. Some leave their lockers the same way all year, others may change it once or twice during the year. Locker magnets are a fun and easy accessory that can not only help out with keeping the locker organized, but can also add to the overall look of the locker. Take a look at some of the different ways you can use magnets to make your locker look nice.
Many times student stick their class schedules inside of their binders and while it helps to have it in there, they also need to have a copy somewhere in their locker. Between classes, when students get to their lockers, there is usually no time to find the schedule that they have in their binders and the one that is supposed to be visible inside of the locker is normally stuck in between a textbook, underneath a set of papers or perhaps on the kitchen counter at home. Using magnets to hang schedules up on the inside of the locker door not only alleviates the problem of the lost schedule, it also makes it very convenient to access when your student needs to review it in between classes.
Students need reminders throughout the day. It can be something as simple as remembering to bring a textbook home for a homework assignment or to study, for example. As the day progresses, students tend to forget things. Although they may have written the assignment down in their homework pads, they will forget to look at the homework pad before leaving. A magnetic dry erase board that can be put at the back of the locker is perfect for this. The student can use the dry erase boards to write down reminders and as soon as they open their lockers, the reminder is staring right at them, therefore cutting down on the forgotten items.
Another great idea using magnets is to use magnetic wallpaper. The wallpaper adds style and color to a locker and is very easy to put up. No need for tape, glue or anything of the sort as it just sticks to the insides of the locker. Removal is as easy as the application and there will no residue left behind.

pap3 is right. Capacitance, roughly speaking, is the ability of an object to absorb some number of electrons. Materials like rubber and plastic are electrical insulators, so they don't really want to take on a bunch of extra electrons. But salt water is an electrical conductor with lots of ions floating around, and does a much better job of absorbing electrons. Since people are basically big bags of salt water, the capacitance of your finger is easily detected by the circuitry in the track pad.
I just tried some experiments, and found that although small metal objects are ignored by the trackpad, larger ones can work quite well. An altoids can works okay, but a metal eyeglasses case works very well indeed. This is true even when I hold it with a thick cloth, insulating my hand from the metal. This confirms what I was saying, since capacitance is also related to the number of atoms in the object.
