Maintenance Tips for Gear Pumps

It is a type of positive displacement pump that is used to pump low or high viscosity fluids.
One important component of the gear pump is the pump bearing which comprises of many parts. One is a housing including an interior pumping chamber configured as a pair of intersecting cylinders. The second is an inlet to said chamber. The third one is an outlet from said chamber and spaced from said inlet. The fourth is a pair of meshed gears in said chamber, each gear disposed on an associated shaft.
Sometimes, gear pump bearing composes of a specially designed surface layer of PTFE formulations and is specifically applied for the high PV value of gear pump bearing. It can be used in medium, high-pressure gear pump, ram pump, and vane pumps and so on. As it is without lead, it makes the bearing lubricating condition cleaner, and in accordance with environmental request.
Although there are many other applications that use gear pumps, the most common example of a gear pump is the hydraulic gear pump that is used in the transmissions of many vehicles. If the paper slides in and out between the teeth too easily, then the gears have been worn due to scrubbing or poor lubrication.
