How many times have you pulled out your automotive jack stands to jack up your vehicle or your rv and realized that the crank handle is nowhere to be found? Oh, this is just great. The scissor jack or jack stand isn't worth fifteen cents without the handle for it. Finally, when you are finished ripping your vehicle apart trying to find it and you can't, then you are officially mad.
When you need to jack your car up to change a tire, it may not always be under ideal conditions. Regardless of whether you're on the side of a highway or in the relative comfort of your own garage, the process of lifting a vehicle weighing thousands of pounds entails some risk. By following a few simple procedures, you can minimize any hazards to yourself and your vehicle to use a good jack like scissor jack or jack stands, also this procedure include for rv stabilizer jacks.
So now that we have it topic covered, let's talk about what you should be using. Whenever someone talks to me about a good jack to buy for occasional use, I look at two different factors. The first is the weight of the vehicle that they are lifting. If it's a standard passenger car or a small light duty truck, typically a 1.5 ton hydraulic scissor jack with a large flat lifting surface. Typically these will offer acceptable lifting heights and capacity for everyday use. If you are lifting a larger vehicle or require additional lifting height, I often suggest a 3 ton jack jacks. If you need additional lift height often your only choice is a 4.5 or large jack stands. Never put a block of wood or anything else between the lifting surface of the jack and the frame of the vehicle you are lifting. That is very dangerous and should be avoided.

If you are working on a car that has been lowered, you may have to purchase a separate bottle jack to lift the car initially, and then use a standard scissor jack once it is high enough. When it comes to bottle jack stands, it's very important to use them at the exact place that the manufacturer of your vehicle suggests you use for the scissor jack they include. This is because of the bottle jack stands smaller lifting point than scissor jack, it becomes much easier to accidentally damage your cars floor pan or worse.
At last most cars come with a pentagram, scissor jacks or jack stands. These are adequate for lift about 1/3rd of the weight of the vehicle. As you are only lifting one corner, this is acceptable. In a garage or workshop situation bottle jack stands or hydraulic jacks are common. The later in particular can lift heavier weights than scissor jacks and are considered safer. How can Ireplace 1/4 inch jack in hollow body guitar?
I'm used to Fender Strats. Really easy to fix electronics in those. But I have an Ibanez artcore, and it's a hollowbody. I can't get to the 1/4 inch jack. How do I get in there to fix it? Cut a hole?

It's fixed in place with a nut, don't know what happens if you unscrew it (and no, I'm not going to try).
Best you leave it to a pro, they'll have tools for such jobs.
Certainly don't cut it open. That's destroying the instrument.
If it needs opening up, a professional will be able to undo the binding and glue on the back or top, get in there, reglue everything, and make it look like new.
Which will of course cost you.
