Stoeger coach gun help?
Recently purchased a Stoeger side by side double barrel 12 ga.
Cut the stock down as I've done with other long guns I've owned yet haven't hunted with, fashioned myself a "pistol grip" and cleaned it up real good.
This time I encountered a stock bolt which I also cut with the intention of bending it or fraying the edges, because is is not threaded nothing will screw on to hold it in place.
Now the stock slides on and off, not very easily but enough to unsettle me.
What ought I do with it now? I was wondering if loctite or some other adhesive would work, maybe some tape as a last resort. Any ideas? I don't feel like ordering an entire new stock.
go to ur local hardware store with the bolt from the stock.....and get one the length u need with the right thread pitch......
**lows home depot etc will probably be useless unless u happen to need a "common" size bolt......
** usually i counter drill my guns i cut with a larger drill bit and use a allen head bolt or similar...
Keeping threaded fasteners in their place: Loctite, Safety Wire, Jam nuts & More Part 1 of 2
