Rotating Tires on Your Mustang

If you love your Ford Mustang as much as I hope you do, then you should be able to do simple procedures without the help of a mechanic shop. Learning to complete routine upkeep will not only save you money, but it will give you an intense feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Rotating the tires on your Mustang is something that can easily be done, just follow my tips and you’ll be on your way to installing mustang parts in no time.

  1. The first you need to do is make sure you have all of the proper equipment. To rotate the tires on your car, all you will need are four jacks and a lug nut wrench.
  2. Once you’ve got your equipment in order, the first thing you should do is loosen all of the lug nuts on each of your tires. Make sure to place a thick piece of plywood behind the back tires of you Mustang so that your car doesn’t end up rolling backwards as you begin jacking up your car.
  3. Next you will need to jack up the front two tires. Then move on to the back and jack both of the tires up as well. When jacking up your car, make sure that you are only going high enough to just take off the tires easily.
  4. Next remove and replace your tires in an “X” pattern. Your passenger side rear tire should be switched with your driver side front tire and your driver side rear should be switched with your passenger side front.
  5. Make sure to tighten all of your lug nuts with your hands so they won’t fall off as you are lowering your car back down.
  6. Begin lowering the rear of your car first and replace the thick wooden plywood once again to prevent your car from rolling. Then lower the front of your car and remove the jacks.
  7. Now go around and thoroughly tighten all of you lug nuts with your lug nut wrench.
  8. And finally, adjust the tire pressure of your tires according your car manual.
