Stanley or Evolv tools: Which is better?

I'm looking into purchasing a fairly basic mechanic's tool kit. Obviously the high-dollar brands are going to be best (Proto, Snap-On, etc.) but they're way out of my price range. My first choice was Craftsman, but kits including everything I want run over $100. However, while in Sears, I noticed their new "Evolv" line of tools. The quality SEEMS ok, and decent kits start at $50. However, WalMart carries a comparable kit by Stanley for the same price. Has anybody had experience with either of these brands, or both, and can make a recommendation?

Please keep in mind that I don't need anything "professional grade", as I'm just using the tools for basic work on my family's vehicles, but I want something higher quality than the el-cheapo generic kits offer.

As a mechanic I have broken lots of craftsman tools. For the most part they are junk. Most of their tools are made by other companies which means that some are good and some aren't, but how do you know. Stanley tools are cheap but do hold up better and they do have a lifetime warranty. Keep in mind though that snap-on, mac, cornwell, and matco tool trucks will open an account for you with revolving credit and no interest. You have to pay a percentage of your balance every week, but there is no interest at all. For a cheaper tool I also like Prograde which i have found at farm stores. Never buy from harbor freight. To answer your question: get Stanley.
