Cleaning Your BMW Rims
If you love your BMW as much as I hope you do, you must make an effort keep it looking impeccable at all times. Everything down to your chrome rims should be shiny and beautiful. Unfortunately, many people neglect their BMW rims , which are easily damaged. If you want you rims looking great at all times there are few steps that you will need to take for maintenance and cleaning purposes. Follow my tips below and your rims will be looking great for years to come.
- First make sure that you always remove debris and rocks that get stuck in your rims right away. This will prevent unnecessary damage and scratching and keep your rims looking new for a lot longer.
- When it’s time for you to clean the rims on your BMW make sure that you have the right supplies. You will need nonabrasive sponge, a bucket, rim cleaner and a soft towel.
- Next fill the bucket up halfway with warm water. Dunk the sponge into the water and ring out excess water. Then take the sponge to the rim of your car and scrub about built-up dirt and grime. Carefully move the sponge in circular motions. Make sure to remove any rocks or debris as you go. You never want to accidentally rub them in with the sponge as this will cause undue damage. Repeat this for each rim.
- Next spray the rim cleaner on your rims. You should move from top to bottom, spraying in straight rows. You can also put the cleaner onto your sponge and work it onto the rim. You should use about a quarter-sized amount for each rim.
- Allow the rim cleaner to soak in for about five minutes. Then wet your sponge again and remove the cleaner with the sponge.
- Dry with a nonabrasive towel and you’re finished!

i have an 85 toyota supra with the original rims, i believe they are alloy but im not sure. the rims are pretty dirty and i tried a brillo pad and some turtle wax rim cleaner but it didnt make them shine, and i know they can shine because my spare rim is shiney. i need some good rim cleaner and where to buy it at
Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish and lot's of elbow grease! Buy it at any car parts store. If you have a cordless drill, you can get one of those buffing balls for your drill. But either way, just keep on rubbing til the cloth/ball turns completely black. Then wipe off with a clean rag.
