Basketball Equipment Review: Goalrilla Breakaway Rim Heavy Weight
This Goalrilla breakaway rim is a heavy weight is ideal for any Goalrilla basketball hoop. This is a flex breakaway rim that has strong springs that help decrease the risk of the rim and backboard being damaged by intense play. Slams and dunks break backboards and bend rims. That's why breakaway rims were designed, to handle the modern day basketball player that plays hard on the court.
This breakaway rim will fit all Goalrilla basketball hoops including the Goalrilla E1, The GS I hoop, the GS II hoop, the GS III hoop, the GS 60 hoop, and GS 54 basketball hoop. The rim is powder coated in all weather Nylon Net that protects it from elements that would break it down over time such as sunlight and other corrosives. This Goalrilla breakaway rim has the standard regulation diameter of 18" inches and has a bolt pattern of 5" horizontal by 5" vertical.
The strong spring mechanism in the rim helps decrease the risk of the rim or backboard breaking and it also protects the basketball players themselves because when they hang from the rim after a dunk or slam, their limbs can become overstretched and an injury can occur. This breakaway rim is all steel made with very strong components. Breakaway rims are great because they only bend slightly unlike fixed rims. In fact, almost all pro style basketball hoops manufacturers strictly use breakaway rims. The Goalrilla breakaway rim heavy weight bends slightly and then instantly snaps back to its original shape when the player lets go of it.
