what is wrong with my mechanical disc brake?
its the rear disc brake, I removed the pads and scored them with sandpaper, I cleaned the rotors with acetone on a cloth, I lubed the cables, and I adjusted the calipers and still the brakes will not stop the bike, If I hold the lever the brake only slightly slows down the bike but I can still cycle while holding it.
the brake caliper is a Quad Qmd-6,

My first thought was also cable tension. If that's not it, then you need to take it to a bike shop and have the pros check it out.
