Another Perk of Conscientious Rain Barrel Water Collecting
Rain barrels are familiar tools to advocates of sustainable living, environmentalists, desert dwellers and gardeners alike. A highly touted means of collecting rainwater in arid regions they can provide a supplemental water supply as well as being the sole water source for both residential and agricultural purposes.
Collecting rainwater can also be advantageous to gardeners living in areas that don’t encourage such water collection habits due to adequate yearly rainfall. Even in those locations there’s generally a time or two when a short term drought occurs and supplemental irrigation, basically the use of tap water, becomes necessary to keep gardens from turning into displays of crispy, brown twigs. While this type of supplemental water helps keep the plants alive, as every gardener can relate, it’s not until the advent of a deluge from the sky that vegetation really perks up and vibrancy returns. I’ve seen this dramatic change take place by the end of a single drought ending rainfall!
Collecting rainwater in rain barrels and then using that water to irrigate when necessary can alleviate some of the issues resulting from using water treated with the chemicals intended to make it safe for human consumption. Granted the water falling from the sky isn’t without toxins but the pH level and other chemical makeup is still better suited to providing plants with necessary substances than that flowing from most taps.
Rain water is typically collected from gutters which act in the capacity of receptors, receiving water flowing down off rooftops and guiding this water into the rain barrels. Care should be taken to make sure the roofs are as free as possible of any type of detritus—oils, asphalt particles, etc.—that might clog up the process or be detrimental to plants. And, of course, a system must be set up to transfer the rain water to the garden in as efficient a way as possible.
Depending on the area needing irrigation, hoses, gravity, dripping and/or watering cans are a few means by which to get collected rainwater water to the plants. Trenches dug in the garden area provide an excellent route for the water to flow and percolate. Overall with a minimal expenditure of time and money an irrigation system can be set up that is environmentally sound, effective and easy to use.

Do you have to be 21 to have a legal short barrel rifle/shotgun?
Im a minor and know I can have shotguns/rifles but what about under 18" or 16"?I don't want one or have any current use for one im just curious.
You have to be 21 to purchase an NFA firearm from a licensed dealer. However, you can purchase an NFA firearm in a private sale from someone who is a resident of the same state as yourself and ATF will approve the transfer if you are 18. You still have to complete the Form 4 and pay the tax and wait for approval, but as long as the buyer and seller are residents of the same state there is no legal requirement to do the transfer through a dealer.
This is assuming your state allows NFA firearms. Not all do and not all allow all types of NFA firearms.
