NFL Preseason Odds: Giants vs Jets - 7:05pm EST on ESPN
Monday Night Football returns to ESPN with a special inaugural event for week 1 of the NFL preseason as the new home of the New York Giants and New York Jets will be revealed to the national television audience in the preseason opener for both teams. Online sportsbooks have opened with the designated home team New York Jets as a 3-point favorite in NFL preseason odds for week 1 against the Giants in the annual Battle of Gotham match-up. The over/under NFL betting total is listed at 33.5 and the money-line point spread has the Jets -145 as betting favorites and the Giants +125 underdogs with kickoff set for 7:05pm EST.
The Jets have been one of the better values in NFL preseason odds since 2007 as they have gone 8-3-1 against the spread including 3-1 last year in Rex Ryan's rookie season as coach. The Giants have gone 4-6-2 with online sportsbooks in exhibition action during that same time span. The Jets are the swaggering team in the preseason headlines as they are brashly talking Super Bowl and are having their training camp documented by NFL Films in an all access reality series. Head coach Rex Ryan refuses to back off the Super Bowl talk and has been brazen with cockiness.
One problem facing the Jets heading into the NFL preseason, however, is the holdout of superstar cornerback Darrelle Revis, who is considered to be the best defensive back in the game. The Jets will work on an improved passing attack for the Monday night football game on ESPN. They were one of the worst passing teams in the NFL last year and 2nd year quarterback Mark Sanchez must take the next step. The Giants will be working on a more diverse offense in order to take the burden off of quarterback Eli Manning. The Giants will also work to tighten up their defense with fiery new coordinator Perry Fewell after they imploded to finish 30th for points allowed last year.

How much does a ford racing 427 super cobra jet crate engine cost?
i'm building a shelby gt500 clone, and i wanted one of these engines for it, i read that its a 7.5L long block ford racing 427 super cobra jet crate engine, but it didn't say the price, i was wondering if anybody knew, thanks.
The 'standard' 427 Ford is a medium hi rise side oiler big block, and they are expensive, because they are fairly hard to find. Ten grand will get you started, depending on what heads you want, but it's not enough for a working engine. How about this: You can stroke a Ford aluminum Windsor block to 427 for a lot less $$. I have an iron 351W stroked to 427 in my '89 Mustang, putting-out about 550 hp with factory Ford fuel injection & she runs all day on pump gas. The short block was a bit over 3 grand from a pro engine builder, and I did the rest of the work myself. I went big $$ on the heads, with aluminum Trick Flo R heads & a medium port job, so have about 7 grand of engine in the car.
