How To Use The Boltsize-It Gauge:
BoltSize-It Gauge – The BoltSize-It Gauge is used for sizing inch and metric nuts, bolts, screws and washers. The BoltSize-It Gauge also has the elevated thread pitch on the reverse side in inch and metric for sizing the thread pitch of various diameter fasteners.
1. Excellent for sizing bolts, nuts and screws
2. Size bolts from 3mm to 22mm on the metric side and #4 to 1" on the inch
3. Nut measurement range is from #6 to 5/8"
4. Elevated thread pitch on reverse side
5. Grid on the front for determining coarse or fine thread pitch of an inch or metric fastener
6. Has a 180mm metric ruler and a 7 inch ruler
7. Can also be used to size various diameter drill bits
8. Made of sturdy lightweight plastic
9. Resists water, alcohol, oil & grease
HOW TO USE THE BOLTSIZE-IT GAUGE:
Please refer to the numbers on the reference charts
1 – Compare your fastener to the inch and metric head marking grid on the reverse side of the gauge to determine if you have an inch or metric fastener.
2 – Once you have determined whether you have an inch or metric fastener, turn the gauge over and use the holes on the front side to determine the diameter of your fastener.
3 – Once you have determined the diameter, use the reference grid below the holes on the front side to determine what the thread pitch could be for that corresponding fastener size.
4 – Once you have determined your fasteners diameter and possible thread pitch, use the elevated thread pitch grid on the reverse side to determine your fasteners actual thread pitch: (UNC ) coarse or (UNF) fine thread.
5 – Use the nut posts on the ends of the BoltSize-It Gauge to determine whether your nut is (UNC) coarse or (UNF) fine thread. (UNC) coarse nuts slide TO the shoulder. (UNF) fine nuts fit OVER the shoulder.
6 – Use ruler from this end to measure the length of hex bolts, inch or metric.
7 – Use ruler from this end to measure the length of flat head or countersunk screws, inch or metric.
